South Africa is home to a large number of talented people who have channelled their creativity into the making of glamorous and gorgeous signature cakes for special occasions. These days, chocolate cake is often the preferred cake at weddings – even though the frosting is soft and pastel in colour – inside lies a dark and luscious heart!

One remarkably talented young cake wizard is ex Silwood School of Cookery student, Sonja Beutes, owner of ‘Lockets and Lace’. Sonja’s creations are as visibly mouth-watering as they are delicious. Each of her cakes receives a great deal of attention to detail. Even her cake pops and biscuits are works of art.
